An intensive course called 'Stata Winter School' (24 lectures, each per 90min) takes a place at Cass Business School in London. Among the others, Tom Heryán is going to be trained within the econometrics’ skills in STATA software. The lecturers are in particular Prof. Sebastien Laurent, Aix-Marseille University and Prof. Aurelio Tobías, Spanish Council for Scientific Research.
A next special lecture on the topic “Deferred Tax" was realized on Monday 03/12/2018 in the courses Accounting of Corporations, Managerial Accounting and Financial Accounting II. Lecturer Ing. Hana Lukašíková from company PricewaterhouseCoopers Audit, Ltd. acquainted students of Bachelor´s field of study Accounting and taxes and also students of specializations in the follow-up Master´s field Business Economics and Management not only with legislative regulation of deferred tax, but also with the valuation, accounting and audit of this accounting instrument.

Siauliai University organizes the 18th International Multidisciplinary Scientific Conference called RETHINKING REGIONAL COMPETITIVENESS. Tom Heryan is going to present and discuss his paper titled Microeconomics of Tourism among selected Baltic States: What influences profitability in a case of those profitable firms? Nicole Škuláňová is going to present her paper Impact of selected determinants on the choice of sources of financing in the energy companies of the Visegrád Group. Both of them will also participate at the workshop called Citizen Participation in Budgeting: Theory-Building and Research Methodology Issues, one day in advance. A leader of this workshop is prof. Carol Ebdon, Ph.D. from School of Public Administration, University of Nebraska (Omaha, USA).
